The Rise and Fall of Call Her Daddy
Dez here with the latest tea, this time in the podcasting and radio world
Call Her Daddy is a life and relationship podcast that has taken on some major drama with the hosts and naming rights. Starting in the fall of 2018, the podcast has been known to be controversial and vulgar. The hosts; Alex Cooper and her pal Sofia wanted a podcast that was tell all when it comes to dating in New York City. Once they became noticed, they signed a three year contract with Barstool Radio. After fulfilling 1 year of their agreement, they went radio silent in protest. But in protest…. of what?
After 6 weeks of no communication with fans or weekly podcasts being posted, the president of Barstool Dave Portnoy spoke out. On May 17th, he recorded a new episode of Call Her Daddy of his tell all tale regarding the hosts.
Turns out the girls have been getting paid roughly 500,000 dollars a year for their podcast
Alex and Sofia were shopping their show to other sites
Sofia’s boyfriend (Peter) was acting as their manager
Peter is a rude person and twitter is trolling him hard
They demanded more money and the Call Her Daddy name
More details emerged that the two are not speaking. They must be publicly embarrassed because Dave did not hold back on the episode.
The podcast fell off the shark early 2020. Content was poor and they were losing fans anyway.
It will be interesting to see if the hosts comment publicly, but we have seen the end of Call Her Daddy. Eh, I already found a new podcast to listen to so it’s not a big deal.
