League of Record Rule Book
Contacting League Officers
Your league officers are available if you have any questions or are in need of assistance. If your question pertains to a feature provided by our fantasy football hosting provider (Sleeper), please utilize their support resources before contacting a league officer.
For league-specific issues, please contact the league commissioner first. If unable to reach the commissioner, reach out to a member of the trade committee.
If you cannot contact a league officer and your issue is time-sensitive (for instance, if you are requesting a roster modification because you don't have access to the Internet), please use the league message board/group chat to make your request. In this way, we can verify the time of your request and make your roster change retroactively if necessary.

League Entry & Other Fees
The following fees will be collected yearly prior to the draft to finance league operations and prizes. Fees will be collected prior to the draft day. Draft Day will also be known as the “Buy-In Date”.
Entry Fee: $50 per team
The previous year champion is then responsible for shipping it to the new league champion.
The Start Up Year (2023) will require 2 years of buy ins to secure the future of the league (ie. the 2023 and 2024 season). Future buy ins will cover the next year and so on.
Trading Future Picks
If you trade future picks in which the year was not already paid for, you will need to pay 50% of the buy-in at the time of the next Buy-In Date.
(ie. Kevin trades a 2026 and a 2027 1st round pick during the 2023 season. Kevin will need to pay 50% of the 2026 and 2027 buy-in fee, by the time of the next year's Buy-In Date.) This will secure that a team will not trade away their picks and then leave the league.
Finances
The buy in for the league will be 50 dollars per team per year for a grand total of a $600 pot. No refunds.
Line ups
Rosters will consist of 26 players.
Starting lineup will be: 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 4Flex (WR/RB/TE).
16 Bench spots
5 IR spots
2 rookie “taxi” spots
League Set Up:
The League will comprise of 12 teams which will be broken down into three divisions made of 4 teams. At the beginning of the first year (2023), each team will be randomly placed into one of 12 slots. (A1-A4, B1-B4, C1-C4). In each year following, the winners of each division will retain their division and will be assigned as either A1, B1, or C1. The remaining nine teams will be placed into the remaining slots randomly. In each season, every team will play the other teams in their division twice while playing the eight remaining teams once, according to the schedule below. Division winners will be allowed to change the name of their division at the start of the next season.
Scoring
Scoring will be based upon the following criteria and is seen in the Sleeper app. The Sleeper app scoring is truth.
Playoffs
6 teams. The two divisional winners with the best record will receive a bye, with the third division winner being ranked 3rd.
The next top 3 teams make the playoffs based on best record. 6th place is either the highest pts for or (if the highest points for is already in the playoffs) the next best team based on record.
Start up Draft
The start up draft will be a 28 round, snake draft, with a third round reversal. The slow draft will be held within the Sleeper app. You will have up to 8 hours to make your picks before you are autodrafted. This gives plenty of time to discuss trades and breaks for sleep/work.
Please make timely pick selections to speed up the draft. Typical slow drafts will go through 2-3 rounds in a day.
The draft can also be paused for circumstances (fyi Bert will be in Europe during the month of August) and the commissioner is able to retrospectively fix any errors in extreme circumstances.
The draft will begin on Saturday July 29th at 12:05pm EST.
Do not hash out trades within the group chat. Nobody wants to see 400 messages in a chat.
Buy In’s are due before the draft.

Yearly Rookie Draft
July 14th every year. Yearly Buy-Ins are due by the Rookie Draft. The rookie draft will last four rounds and be a non-snake slow draft. The rookie draft will include rookies and veteran free agents.
Picks 7-12 will be based off the previous playoff finish
Those that missed the playoffs, their final place finish will be based off of regular season record and draft order will be done NBA lottery style. PingPong Balls will be randomly drawn in ascending pick order. With teams awarded an amount of balls based on where they finished.
The Break Down is below:
A skills competition may be decided by the winner of the previous season which will allow for the opportunity for additional balls to be awarded. The lottery will take place the Sunday before the NFL draft.
Trades
Post draft trades may be done at any time before the trade deadline. The trade deadline will begin 2 weeks before the playoffs and will be maintained through the conclusion of the championship game. Any draft picks within 5 years of the trade may be traded. An in season trade has a review period of 48 hours. A trade will be accepted if the commissioner deems it fair or if it receives a 2/3rds vote from the Trade Committee.
Trading may occur during the offseason, but will not be looked at immediately during this time.
The commissioner must be notified if an offseason trade occurs. Once again, the commissioner can veto the trade to the Trade Committee if it is felt sketchy. It so, a 2/3rds vote must be reached by the Trade Committee.
The Trade Committee will consist of 3 members every year. The members are chosen at random by the commissioner.

Tanking
Tanking is a strategy that could be used to better one's team for the future but will cause punishment if done egregiously. A tanking lineup of players who are all active will be allowed even if they are terrible. The tanking of setting lineups with players who are not playing when the team has other options will not be tolerated. Mistakes happen so everyone will get one mulligan on a forgotten long term in season free agent or lineup violation. On a second violation, the team will be unable to trade for a minimum of two weeks after they set a proper lineup. For every violation after the team will get one ping pong ball removed from their draft lottery until they set a proper lineup. If the team gets 5 roster violations or more, it is up to the commissioner to decide whether or not to terminate the violator.
Amendments
Any owner may suggest rule modifications to the commissioner before the start of the Dallas Cowboys Training Camp (Late July). Voting will take place in the group chat with a 24 hour voting period or once all votes are counted. Owners are allowed 1 rule amendment per offseason. Votes are final and cannot be changed unless the vote was made with incorrect knowledge. A majority vote of all owners may amend a new rule into the constitution.

New Ownership
In the unfortunate event that we lose an owner for any reason the league will do its best to find a new owner to take over operations as the previous owner left it. Candidates for new owners must be presented to the league. The league will be given a seven day window to veto the new owner from becoming part of the league. Five vetoes with justification are needed to keep the new owner from the league. Ownership can only change during the off-season.
Miscellaneous
By entering into this league you agree to the following:
I will not partake in any form of cheating which includes but is not limited to: Making one-sided trades to purposely make another team better, Tanking games, Neglecting to remove starters on their bye-weeks
I will be an active participant in viewing and commenting when necessary on trades and other league related issues including responding promptly to all trade offers
-This includes voting on amendments to the rules if possible changes are brought upI will continue to remain in this league as an active team owner for the foreseeable future as this is a Dynasty League that encourages and strongly prefers continued team ownership for many years
If I do choose to leave the league for any reason I will make an honest effort to locate a replacement owner to take over for my team
I understand each and every rule that is set in place for this league
I will pay the first two years of entry fees up front and will pay entry fees before the draft
